President Obama claims the immigration system is broken and that Congress is not doing enough to fix it.
There are two problems with Obama’s presumption.
First, the reason the immigration system only “appears” broken is because Obama himself has chosen not to enforce existing law.
Second, Congress can choose not to act on the wishes of the president for a reason, Congress has exclusive authority to enact law.
Either action by the president is tyrannical and unconstitutional. Either of the actions by the president are impeachable acts.
Article 1, Section 8 of the Constitution gives Congress exclusive authority to “establish a uniform Rule of Naturalization ….” And it is the president’s constitutional duty, under Article II, Section 3, to “take Care that the Laws be faithfully executed ….”
President Obama is bypassing Congress because he feels they are not doing what he wants done. He is not enforcing existing law, while revising existing law, and simultaneously imposing new law – all without Congressional approval or process.
Obama is acting like a king and in direct contradiction to the Constitution.
The president has established a dangerous precedent and has destroyed the principles of separation of powers.
NEWSL.ORG will closely follow and publicize actions by the president and Congress on illegal immigration.
