2016: Obama’s Third Term

Would it really be so surprising that President Barack Hussein Obama would seek to repeal the 22nd Amendment?

Ratified on Feb. 27, 1951, the 22nd Amendment’s operative statement begins with “No person shall be elected to the office of the President more than twice…”

While still a fledgling nation, George Washington refused a third term in 1796, even though he was asked. Thomas Jefferson followed suit and declined to run for a third term. For more than 140 years this tradition was followed. Two other presidents did try and run for third terms but were defeated; Hiram Ulysses (S) Grant in 1880 and Stephen Grover Cleveland in 1896.

When Franklin Delano Roosevelt also broke tradition and ran for a third term, he won. He also won a fourth term but died in April 1945, seven months before the end of World War II.

While some could argue that extenuating circumstances create a need for continuity of government by allowing subsequent terms of a President, Congress realized that power held too long was corrupting.

In the case of FDR, a nation at war was grounds for considering this continuity because of the external threats facing the nation from the Third Reich and the Japanese Empire.

But Obama is different.

For many he is the enemy within.

While ISIS appears to be the immediate external threat, Obama’s attacks are on the American people themselves and the Constitution and Bill of Rights are overt.

He continues to dismantle the 1st Amendment with his latest FCC seizure of the internet; demonstrate disrespect for the 2nd Amendment and his positive engagement with the UN on the Arms Trade Treaty; and, continue his shadowy maneuvers to ignore the 4th Amendment by allowing the NSA to conduct illegal surveillance on Americans. His use of the IRS to target individuals and organizations who oppose him through audits; and, the illegal and unconstitutional move to grant amnesty and reward trespassers, all point to the behavior of a President who openly displays disdain and disrespect for the fundamental underpinnings of American government and its separation of powers.

Ferguson and Baltimore are other instances where a president may choose to suspend elections or repeal the 22nd Amendment because of potential violence. After all, voters would need to be safe and remember, it’s all for the sake of the children…

Obama also exhibits seething contempt towards Americans who don’t fawn over his wisdom or who simply disagree with him.

For an American president, Obama’s cavalier despotism is really quite unbelievable.

Despite these assaults on America, there are still active efforts to repeal the 22nd Amendment.

In a petition to Congress entered in 2014: “The 22nd Amendment has been a barrier to the freedom of this country especially at the moment with our economy in trouble. There have been too many times throughout our history that an elected President who is doing what is right for America has to leave office due to the term limits specified in the U. S. Constitution. Often the new President reverses everything that has been done which does nothing but bring further harm to America.”

A counter to this petition, the limitations placed on a President by the 22nd Amendment may indeed be unpopular when a President is popular, it fortunately injects a refreshment that is in keeping with the spirit of liberty. The very health of the nation rests with support of the 22nd Amendment.

However, the argument may be raised again. Two recent presidents questioned the spirit of the 22nd Amendment.

Ronald Wilson Reagan said, “I have come to the conclusion that the 22nd Amendment limiting the presidency to two terms was a mistake. Shouldn’t the people have the right to vote for someone as many times as they want to vote for him?

William Jefferson Clinton said, “The 22nd Amendment should probably be modified to say two consecutive terms instead of two terms for a lifetime.”

The wisdom of the 22nd Amendment is now revealed.

Who could have expected a president such as Obama? The 22nd Amendment expected it.

However, given Obama’s track record, it would be unsurprising that he or his henchmen make a real attempt to repeal the 22nd Amendment.

I’m an American and I’m voting for President Barack Obama in 2016. This is the first time in American history that we have an American President that is 50% White 50% Black. So this is the first chance in American history and vote President Barack Obama in for a third time the 22nd ammendment it concludes that everyone is equals except the remains we hadn’t had a president made of this kind of DNA BEFORE. Therefore the only conclusion I can acknowledge from this is that we will have to WRITE IN PRESIDENT BARACK OBAMA NAME ON THE BALLOT…I APOLOGIZE TO THE OBAMA FAMILY BUT THIS IS ABOUT EQUALITY…CORRECT? THEREFORE THE 22ND AMMENDMENT MUST BE REFORMED! AFTER READING THE ABOVE DOCUMENTS THIS IS TRUE NOW MORE THAN EVER

    I’m an American
